Why Healthy Weight Matters for French Bulldogs
Maintaining a healthy weight is crucial for this brachycephalic breed
Breathing Relief
Extra weight worsens BOAS and breathing difficulties. Losing just 10% of body weight can significantly improve breathing.
Joint Health
French Bulldogs are prone to joint issues. Healthy weight reduces strain on hips and elbows, preventing early arthritis.
Longer Lifespan
Studies show dogs at a healthy weight live 20% longer. Proper weight management adds years to your Frenchie's life.

Rib Check Method
Stand behind your Frenchie and place your hands on their sides. You should be able to feel their ribs easily with your fingertips, but they should not be visible or protruding. If you need to press hard to feel the ribs, your dog is likely overweight. If the ribs are clearly visible without pressing, they may be underweight.
