Vomiting
French Bulldogs are prone to vomiting due to their sensitive stomachs and brachycephalic anatomy. Occasional vomiting may be normal, but frequent episodes require attention.
🔍Possible Causes
- •Eating too fast (common in Frenchies)
- •Food allergy or intolerance
- •Gastric irritation
- •Foreign body ingestion
- •Infection or parasites
- •Sudden diet changes
📋Common Signs
- •Regurgitating food shortly after eating
- •Dry heaving or retching
- •Loss of appetite
- •Lethargy
🚨When to See a Vet
See a vet immediately if vomiting contains blood, occurs more than 3 times in 24 hours, or is accompanied by lethargy, diarrhea, or abdominal pain.
🏠Home Care Tips
Withhold food for 12 hours, offer small amounts of water frequently. If vomiting stops, gradually introduce bland food (boiled chicken + white rice) in small portions.
🛡️Prevention
Use slow feeder bowls to prevent rapid eating. Avoid sudden diet changes. Feed multiple small meals throughout the day instead of one large meal.
